Snowmen

Another Christmas card to share with you all today.

All  the  snowmen are from Mama Elephant, a stamp set called 'Little Snowman Agenda', there are 20 individual snowmen in this set and I have made three cards in total from just one stamping. This stamp set also has a matching die set which makes it so much easier to cut them out. These stamps and the co-ordinating die set can be purchased from Dies to Die for

The snowmen have been coloured with Copics and some of the elements highlighted with glossy accents.
This is quite a simple card for me as I usually do a lot of matting and layering. This card however has only one layer of white card which I edged with the same red ink that I stamped the word Wonderful in. The sentiments are a Whimsy stamp set called 'You're My Favourite', and again can be purchased from Dies to Die for.
I made a little background for the snowmen by using distress ink 'faded jeans' which I applied to the card with a sponge dauber. The snowmen at the back are stuck directly to the card whilst the ones in the foreground and raised slightly with foam tape. The snowy ground was created by applying glue under the snowmen then sprinkling this with a mixture of two different glitters. One with slightly larger clear holographic pieces and the other a much finer coloured glitter.
I will post the other cards later in the week as I will be looking after my grandson for the next two days so most probably will struggle to find the time to wee, never mind blog πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Hope everyone is having a good week so far

Frozen!

Good morning everyone, well what grey and dark days we are having. I'm having to continually have the lights on so I can see to do any crafting at all.
Today's make that I'm sharing with you is a crocheted hot water bottle cover that is a Christmas gift for a family member who is always Frozen ❄️❄️

This is the first time I've made one of these and although I am happy with it I'm going to make a few pattern changes to the next one I make. The pattern is bought one off Etsy and the pattern link can be found Here

Here's another image of the back of the bottle cover, I used orange buttons for the closure just to add a bit of a contrast.

My next cover is already underway, another present for another cold person. Using a pink colour palette for this one.

The wool I use is Stylecraft DK. I love how it works up, it has the most amazing range of colours, washes really well and also is really affordable.
I tend to do most of my crocheting in the evenings whilst watching the telly so today is housework and colouring up some more images towards my Christmas cards.

Hope everyone has a good week and thanks for reading.

First Christmas Card

Actually started making my Christmas cards at last. I always leave things to the last minute and end up rushing, so this is actually early for me.

The image I used is called 'Snow Queen' by Lili of the Valley and can be found as a digital image on their Etsy page
I coloured this image with Copics and used Stickles for the falling snow, the fur around the crown is white flowersoft. The card, papers, ribbon and gems are all from my stash and have had them for years.

Hope you like it. Now to crack on and make a few more. Have a good weekend everyone.

Morning World 🌍

Well the start of another week and it's a chilly one here in Warrington. No frost as yet but the temperature has definitely dropped.
I actually made a start on my Christmas cards last week, colouring some images up with my Copics, I haven't put these on cards yet but hoping to do so this week. I am going to have to sit and spend some time cleaning my Copics though I was ashamed of the state I'd let them get in, so that is one of my planned jobs for today πŸ˜€
So I have nothing crafty to show you today although I have a fair few projects very close to completion, papercraft, crochet and cross stitch.

Sharing a picture of my Grandson Lynk, he is eight months old now and a joy to be around. He is such a happy little soul and I love him to bits ♥️♥️♥️

Monday, 21 October 2019

Good morning everyone, there's a real nip to the air this morning but other than it being cold it's bright with clear blue skies. I love Autumn, it's most definitely my favourite time of the year especially on days like today. This is what I call a zoo day, meaning it's a good day to visit the zoo. Dry but cold, outside of the main busy season, no school holidays, so can wander around without loads of crowds. I don't do crowds well.
I'm fortunate enough to live not that far from Chester Zoo and am also a zoo member so can go as often as the mood takes me. Anyway I digress, I have a little crocheted gonk to share with you today

The pattern for this is from Hooked On Patterns  the pattern in called 'Santa Gonk' and it is a paid pattern for you to download. I purchased it through Ravelry but it is also available on Etsy. If you are interested in these there are loads of different gonk's and also patterns for clothes so you can dress them up.
This little fellow is going to be part of a Christmas wreath that I'm planning to make so I'll post a further picture when it's done.

Have a great day everyone whatever you may have planned.

New Baby

Good morning from a sunny but very cold Warrington. I have to say that I'm getting a bit restless now for the warmer weather to arrive.
The card I'm sharing today is a baby card as seven weeks ago I became a grandparent for the first time. My daughter Bryony and her partner Damien had a son, Lynk Charles born on the 18th February πŸ’™

This is the card I made to celebrate his birth πŸ’™πŸ’™

The image is a digital one from Lili of the Valley and I have coloured it using my Copics. My daughter is very into Halloween πŸŽƒ (as am I), we both have Halloween decorations up all year round as part of our normal home dΓ©cor. So as a nod to this I had to of course incorporate it into the baby card πŸ˜€

I had a little visitor yesterday πŸ’™ and can't believe just how much and how quickly he is growing.

Have a good week everyone and enjoy your weekend xxx

Mother's Day card

Good morning everyone, I have actually finished the Mother's Day card I have been making, in time for Mothers Day which is an achievement in itself πŸ˜‚ I always leave things till the last minute so to have it completed with a day to spare is a first.
The image is from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps and the character is Flossie Bumblethorpe.

Sorry for the poor quality of the picture, but my camera isn't great. You can zoom in for a closer look if you really want too.
She has been colored with Copics, the colours I used are listed below:
E51, E21, E33, E35, R37, BG13, BG15, BG49, BG09, R83, RV34, R85, RV17, RV06, V01, V12, G21, YG63, G94, E70, E71, E74 plus some others that I didn't make a note of. The little dots on the blouse are made with a glitter gel pen and I added glossy accents to the grapes on her hat, her lips, the glass in her glasses, her earring and the metal areas (coloured yellow) on her bag.

Here's the finished card.

I decided to make a shaker card so fussy cut the image out before sticking it to my shaker. The sentiment is from Mama Elephant - Happy Everything and can be purchased from Tracy at Dies to Die For

Have a good weekend everyone and enjoy your Mother's Day, however you choose to spend it. I will be visiting my MIL on Sunday and then my own Mother's Day will be on Monday when I get to spend the day with my own daughter and my new grandson πŸ˜€
